God Almighty's name is Yahweh in Hebrew

December 2020, I decided to go back to basics with the Bible - studying the Bible more deeply than I have ever done before.

I grew up questioning whether God had a name and whether it Jehovah - a name I had heard from one of my 3 Grandma's.

Eventually I accepted the name Jehovah and became familiar with its use - UNTIL I started to look into the Bible even more deeply, consulting the writings and informative videos of those scholars of Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek.

It was light bulb moment today 15th March 2021, when I came to the appreciation that my New Jerusalem Bible, containing the name Yahweh was the correct translation.

It is interesting that my enlightenment occurred on the day of World  Speech Day!

I had always appreciated that the tetragrammaton of God's name - YHWH - had vowels inserted in the centuries after the Jews stopped pronouncing God's name, due to superstition and other reasons.

Instead of the YHWH - the word ADONAI - LORD was substituted instead of God's name.

Mistakenly, enthusiastic Bible scholars substituted the vowels held in ADONAI instead of the vowels of for  YHWH - YAHWEH.

So now in 2021 we have many calling God Jehovah which is a made up name and not God's name at all. God's name is YAHWEH - let's praise the Jews for their translations as they are victorious.

Does it matter what we call God? It can make the difference between life and death.

I encourage all to do their own research?

In 1 KINGS 18:21 God's chosen prophet Elijah encourages readers to choose - If BAAL is the true God, follow BAAL - but if YAHWEH is the true God then follow YAHWEH!
